Overview/Supplementary
This test identifies Brucella spp. from isolates. MDH will determine if additional tests are required. Francisella tularensis real-time PCR and Burkholderia mallei/pseudomallei real-time PCR assays may also be performed on isolates submitted for Brucella spp. testing.

Specimen Requirements
Isolates: Actively growing culture on media that support the growth of the bacterial isolate submitted.
