Overview/Supplementary
This test screens for Treponema pallidium, causative agent of syphilis, in clinical specimens.
Quantitative titer will be performed on positive specimens.

Specimen Requirements
Specimen: Serum
Collect in a serum separator tubes (SST). Separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Transfer sample to a sterile tube for transport.
Preferred volume: 1 mL
Minimum volume: 200 µL
Grossly hemolyzed samples will be rejected.
Special Considerations
None
Transport/Stability
Store and ship at refrigeration (2°C to 8°C) temperature within 5 days of collection. Alternatively, ship frozen (≤0°C).
