STREPSP
Specimens are referred to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA for testing.
This test identifies Streptococcus spp. from clinical specimens that were positive for S. pneumoniae, S. pyogenes (GAS), or S. agalactiae (GBS) from blood and urine specimens positive for Streptococcus pneumoniae by urinary antigen testing. Testing is performed for surveillance purposes.
