This test isolates, detects, and identifies Legionella spp. from clinical specimens for diagnostic and surveillance purposes.

Specimens: Sputum, Blood, Bone marrow, Bronchial washings, Bronchial aspirates, Bronchoalveolar lavage/BAL, Lung tissue, Organ autopsy material, Pericardial fluid, Peritoneal fluid, sinuses, Pleural fluid, Tracheal aspirates.
Preferred volume: ≥ 1mL.
Minimum volume: 200 µL.
Urine is NOT acceptable.
If submitting specimens due to a positive Legionella urinary antigen test or molecular assay, enter Project # 2126 on the submission form.
