Overview/Supplementary

This test detects hepatitis A in clinical specimens. The assay is used to assist with epidemiology investigations for hepatitis A.

Epidemiologists from the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Prevention and Control (IDEPC) Division will request specimens from submitters as needed for their investigations.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen: Serum

Collect in a serum separator tubes (SST). Separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Transfer sample to a sterile tube for transport.

Preferred volume: 1 mL  
Minimum volume: 200 µl

Special Considerations

For surveillance use only. Results not reported back to submitter.
