This test detects Burkholderia mallei/pseudomallei from clinical specimens. MDH will determine if additional tests are required, including culture. Francisella tularensis real-time PCR and Brucella spp. real-time PCR assays may also be performed on isolates submitted for Burkholderia mallei/pseudomallei testing.
